Common questions

Good to know before you build

How long does it take to build a pool?

Most new gunite pools take about 8 to 12 weeks from the day we dig to the day you swim. Design, HOA approval and city permits come first and usually add a few weeks. Rain, rock in the ground and extras such as an outdoor kitchen or pavilion can stretch the schedule.

How much does a pool cost?

Every pool is priced for its own yard. Most custom gunite pools in Central Texas fall somewhere between $75,000 and $150,000, and larger pools with spas, waterfalls or outdoor kitchens run higher. The estimate is free, and the pool designer lets you give us a budget to design to.

What changes the price the most?

The size and depth of the pool, how much rock has to be cut, how easily equipment can reach the back yard, and whether the lot slopes. After that it is the features you choose: a spa, waterfalls, tanning ledges, the interior finish, tile, coping and the size of the deck.

Do I need a permit or HOA approval?

Most cities require a permit and inspections for a new pool, and many neighborhoods need HOA approval before work starts. The rules differ from town to town, so we go over what your address needs when we give you the estimate.

My yard is small, sloped or solid rock. Can you still build?

In most cases, yes. Much of Central Texas is limestone or sloping ground, and a pool can be designed for both, as well as for a compact neighborhood lot. We look at the yard first so the design and the price fit the ground you actually have.

Is financing available?

Yes. Pool loans are available through our lending partners, Lyon Financial and LightStream. You apply with them directly.

What about the warranty?

Warranty coverage depends on the pool, the finish and the equipment you choose, so we go over it with you in detail when we meet, before anything is signed. Call 512-965-6346 with any question in the meantime.
