Plaster and pool finishes wear out. Texas sun, hard water and years of chemicals leave the surface rough, stained or cracked. A replaster puts a smooth new finish on the shell you already have, without the cost of building a new pool. We replaster pools from San Antonio to Belton, out of Georgetown.

Signs your pool needs a replaster

  • Rough to the touch. The finish scrapes feet and snags swimsuits.
  • Stains that will not brush or chemical out.
  • Cracks, chips or hollow spots where the old finish is coming loose.
  • Faded, blotchy color or bare spots showing through.

Choose your finish

Classic white plaster, or longer-lasting quartz and pebble finishes such as QuartzScapes and StoneScapes in dozens of colors. You can browse them and send us the ones you like before we meet.

How a replaster works

  • Drain and prepare. We drain the pool and prepare the old surface so the new finish bonds to it.
  • Repairs first. Loose spots, cracks and worn areas are fixed before anything new goes on.
  • New finish. The finish you chose goes on, and the pool is filled right away.
  • Startup. We start the equipment and bring the water into balance while the new finish cures.

A replaster on its own usually takes one to two weeks, weather permitting. It is also the right time to add new waterline tile or coping, since the pool is already empty.

Common questions

Good to know before you remodel

How long does a remodel or replaster take?

A replaster on its own usually takes one to two weeks, weather permitting. Adding new tile, coping, decking, a spa or water features takes longer, and we give you a schedule with the quote.

Can you replaster in winter?

Yes. We remodel and replaster all year, in any weather. Winter is a good time for it: the pool is not being used, so it is finished and ready for the first warm weekend.

How soon can we swim after new plaster?

The new finish cures under water while the water chemistry is brought into balance. Plan on about a week before swimming. We will tell you when it is ready.

Is financing available?

Yes. Pool loans are available through our lending partner, Lyon Financial. You apply with them directly.

What about the warranty?

Warranty coverage depends on the pool, the finish and the equipment you choose, so we go over it with you in detail when we meet, before anything is signed. Call 512-965-6346 with any question in the meantime.
